Maurice Fountain

Services for Maurice Fountain, 83, of Etoile, will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin, with Margie Riley and Jerry Fountain officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11am -1pm, prior to the service.

Mr. Fountain was born September 23, 1935 in San Augustine County, Texas to parents, Elsie and Gladys (Cupit) Fountain and passed away on February 27, 2019 in Etoile.

He graduated from Kountze High School and later worked in retail and law enforcement. He is a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Fountain; sister, Linda Hooper Hollis; sons, Scott Fountain and wife Lanell, Jarrod Fountain, and Randy Warden and wife Susan; daughters, Bridget Fountain, Pam Woods, and Jo Ann Flowers; special friend, Craig Harmon; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Fountain is preceded in death by his father, Elsie Lee Fountain; mother, Gladys Cupit Fountain Hooper; brothers, N.D. Fountain, Buddy Fountain, and Elsie Lee Fountain, Jr.; sisters, Irene Fountain Marble, Sylvia Hooper Laird, and an infant sister, Thelma Fountain.

Mr. Fountain will be escorted to his final resting place by pallbearers: Billy Malone, Arthur Riley, Randy Smith, Craig Harmon, Donnie Fountain, and Donnie Joel Adkins. Honorary pallbearers include: James Parker, Wayne Sellers, and Clyde Votaw.
