Melba Lorraine (Cheatham) Rodgers

Mrs. Rodgers was born July 23, 1942 in Wells, Texas, the daughter of the late Ila Ruth (Loftin) and Louie Cheatham. She passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Rodgers was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, fishing and going to garage sales.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona and Mike Erwin and Janice and Faral Glover; daughter, Marnie Robinson; son, Kevan Mericle; special niece, Malissa McCoy; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Emmitt Nichols; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Louise Cheatham; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Edgar Rodgers; parents; mothers-in-law, Marie Cheatham and Rachel Robinson; brother, Eddie Cheatham; brothers-in-law, Danny Robinson and Charles Robinson; and sisters-in-law, Becky Robinson and Goldie Robinson.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Windsor, Kevan Glover, James Robinson and Jacob Robinson.
