Melissa A. Howell, 60, of Lufkin, was born December 15, 1960 in Tucson, Arizona, the daughter of the late Maureen (Wells) and James Metzger. She passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 in a Nacogdoches hospital.
Melissa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed working with children and hosting Halloween parties for the local community. She also enjoyed going to Mt. Lemmon and the beaches.
Survivors include her daughter, Amanda Jones of Lufkin; son, Tony Howell of Owensboro, Kentucky; daughter, Ashley Maheux of Eugene, Oregon; grandchildren, Tianna, Mycah, Brandon, Elyjah, Luke, Elyana and Elyssa; siblings; and lifelong friend, Glenda Bennett.
Melissa was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Howell on October 3, 2021; her parents; and her brother, Paul Metzger.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
