Services for Mildred Johnson Clark, 78, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Greg Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Clark was born May 20, 1936 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Violet N. (Broomfield) and Henry L. Johnson. She passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Clark was a hard-working, loving, caring mother and grandmother. She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a long-time member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington. She developed friendships over many years of gardening. Mrs. Clark was a 1954 graduate of Lufkin High School.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Wanda Clark of Lufkin and Larry and Laura Clark of Middleburg, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and David Lile of Leawood, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Pam Clark of Lufkin; grandchildren, Joshua Clark, Rachel Burnett, Alison Daniel, Rebekah Bergeron, Jared Clark, Sarah Clark, David Clark, Joseph Clark, Kevin Clark, Andrew Clark, Lindsey Clark, Brandon Lile, Jessica Lile and Coran Clark; great-grandchildren, Bethelyn Clark, Benjamin Clark and Caleb Burnett; brother, Johnny Johnson of Crockett; and a number of other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clark; and son, Raymond Clark.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
