Mildred Louise Baldwin McDuffie

Services for Louise Baldwin McDuffie, 92, of Houston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Scott Reed officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. until noon Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. McDuffie was born September 26, 1925 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Carrie Ola (Nivens) and George Augusta Baldwin. She passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 in Houston.

Mrs. McDuffie was a homemaker, and a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed needlepoint crafts, antique browsing, quilting, and playing card games and 42 with her family. Baking for the family Christmas gatherings was also a joy.

Survivors include her daughters, Sue Buckner and husband Richard, Estes Park, Colorado; Carolyn Green and husband, Charles of Kyle, TX; Deborah Smith and Michael Winner of Houston, TX; Bobbie Wyatt and Mary Garvin of Garland, TX; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McDuffie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee McDuffie; her sisters, Maebelle Herron, Lurley Lee Bailey, Lela Ida (Pat) Austin, Virginia Lois Gilbert; and brother, Ben Garrison Baldwin.

Pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Jimmy Green, Rolston McDuffie, Cliff Green, Brian Green and Aaron Poteet.

Honorary pallbearers are Richard Buckner, Charles Green, Jamal Daghestani, Lyn Bennett, Michael Winner, and Johnny Mack Braeshear.
