

Services for Milford F. Ruby, 85, of Diboll, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend David Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Ruby was born June 21, 1932 in Percilla, Texas, the son of the late Onia B. (Denney) and Frank Horace Ruby. He passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 in a local hospice facility.
Mr. Ruby was retired from Temple-Inland as a Senior Traffic Coordinator following 45 years of employment. He was a 50-year member of Burke Masonic Lodge #833, A.F. & A.M., was a Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of Woodmen of the World. He served his country in the United States Army & Air Force. He was President of Diboll Little League for 19 years and is a Wall of Honor Inductee. He also worked at Diboll Christian Outreach, Special Olympics, and volunteered at several other agencies. Mr. Ruby assisted with the Angelina County Senior Citizen luncheons twice yearly. He volunteered at Diboll Day since its inception. He was a member of the Diboll Volunteer Fire Department, member of the School Board for 9 years, member of the Lions Club, Transportation Club, Diboll Parks Board, and the Angelina County Appraisal Board. He was a member of Diboll’s First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Elizabeth Ruby of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and William “Chip” Seigman of Lorena; grandson, Cutler Ruby of Diboll; granddaughters, Meredith Ruby of Conroe, Madeline Seigman and McKenzie Seigman, both of Lorena; sister, Ouida Ward of Trinity; sisters-in-law, Nelda English of Lufkin and Jane Cutler of Hudson; and a number of other family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ruby was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ruth Ruby; and sister, Hazel Hathorn.

Mr. Ruby’s family wishes to thank the staffs of Hospice in the Pines, CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial, and Texas Home Health for the loving care given to him.
Pallbearers will be members of Burke Masonic Lodge #833.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
