Nancy Carol Moore

Nancy Carol (Waldon) Moore was born in Houston, TX on December 13, 1960 to James Cleveland Waldon, Sr. and Mary Eleanor (Bailey) Waldon. Nancy went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 with family by her side in a Tyler, TX hospital. She was of the Baptist faith.

Nancy loved her family with all of her heart. Her "Girls" meant everything to her. She loved to visit and talk with family and friends and did not meet a stranger. She also loved being "Aunt Nanny" to all of her nieces and nephews. The title she loved the most was being "GoGo" to her granddaughter; Kreci. They had a special bond and Kreci could lift her spirits no matter what she had going on. Kreci and her had a similar love for numerous things especially Snoopy and Charlie Brown.

Nancy loved all genres of music. She would listen to music to help brighten her day many times when she was not feeling well. She also was an avid animal lover and almost always had a pet of some kind.

Nancy had a work ethic like no one else. She began working at the age of 12 and was still working up until the time of her passing, despite all of her health issues. Her earlier jobs included working at Dairy Queen and a variety of office jobs over the years. Ms. Moore was currently employed by Zavalla ISD and had been for 24 years. She had a love for the students and especially enjoyed working in the library.

Nancy is survived by her Daughters, Amanda Carrell and husband Wes Carrell of Pollok,TX; and Jennifer Rainwater and husband Dustin of Lindale,Tx; Granddaughter, Kreci Carrell and a variety of fur grandchildren. Mother, Mary Waldon Snider, Lufkin, TX; Sisters, Gale Shankle, Shenandoah, TX; Becky Guenther, Shenandoah, TX; Shelly(Joe) Pazdera,Texas City, TX; and brother, Jimmy Waldon of Zavalla, TX.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, D.W. Moore Jr.; father, James Waldon, Sr.; and niece, Angela Guenther.

Pallbearers: Wes Carrell, Dustin Rainwater, Jimmy Waldon, Jimmy Boulware, Justin Boulware and Russell Bryan

Family will receive friends Saturday February 8,2025 evening at Gipson Funeral Home 4:00-7:00 pm
