Naomi Jones

Services for Naomi G. "Tean" (Goode) Jones, 87, of Zavalla, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Horn officiating. Interment will follow in Zavalla Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones was born Naomi Goode on February 19, 1925 and passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012. She grew up in the Zavalla area. She married Charles Clark Havard, Jr. in 1941 and they had four daughters: Janice, Vickie, Charlene and Kathy.

Mr. Havard died in 1971 and she supported her children by working at U. T. Medical Branch in Galveston.

She married Mr. Hubert Jones in 1975. When they retired, they returned to their hometown. They have been married for 37 years, and are members of the Johnson Missionary Baptist Church.

She lived long enough for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to know her love and her kind nature. She loved God, her family and her church.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert Jones; daughters, Vickie Havard, Kathy Denton and daughters and sons-in-law, Bill and Jan Harrison and Kert and Charlene Adams; step-children, Gary Jones, Rodney Jones and Theresa and Fred St. Marie; grandchildren, Linda Tinsley, Donnie Harrison, Kassidy Denton and Christopher Adams, Eric Ward, Adam Ward and Hunter St. Marie; great-grandchildren, Rachel Byrd, Andrew Morehouse, Brian Harrison, Maverick Ward and Aiden Ward; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou Elva (Noel) and Lee Goode; three sisters, Hazel Farmer, Ora Mae Carter and LaVerne Goree, and her step-daughter, Karla Mochman.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
