Nettie Kathryn Glover Allen

Services for Nettie Kathryn Glover Allen, 86, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2016 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Shane Scroggins and Bro. Michael Self officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Nettie was born August 23, 1930 to Evie and John Glover of Wells Texas. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 23, 2016 while surrounded by her family. She was married to James (Jim) Ferrell Allen for 52 years and resided in Lufkin.

Nettie was a wonderful homemaker who took pride in taking care of her family and friends. No one ever left her home hungry. She always had home cooked meals and desserts. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, traveling and playing bingo. She was a lifetime member and past commander of the DAV Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her children & spouses: Jeff and Debra Allen, Eddie and Terri Allen, Kathy and Jimmy Hight, Randy Allen, and Steve and Sally Allen; grandchildren Jermy Allen, Brandon Allen, Michael Allen, Tessa Atkinson, BG Allen, Krystal Allen, Kalon Allen, Kyle Allen, Ashli Vinson, Crystal Mann & Brittany Hight; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Ella Craven, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Bill Eldridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, OD Glover, Luby Glover, Shine Glover, Toby Glover, and AL Glover; and sisters, Tee McKey, Bill Lott and Mamie Whitely.

Pallbearers will be Jermy Allen, Brandon Allen, Michael Allen, Jeremy Atkinson, Jay Vinson, Kalon Allen, and Kyle Allen.

Honorary pallbearer will be BG Allen.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Allen’s memory may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75904.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
