Noland was a hardworking man who spent much of his life working in offshore drilling and as an electrician. He took pride in providing for his family and in the work he did throughout his life.
In his free time, Noland enjoyed being outdoors and had a true “green thumb.” He loved gardening and took pleasure in watching things grow. In his younger years, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all, Noland cherished his family and the time spent with those he loved.
Noland leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Linda (Lowery) Smart; his son, Wesley Smart; and his daughter, Kasey Smart. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronald Smart, Jerry Smart, John Smart, Jeffrey Smart, and Terry Smart; his sister, Diane Smart; sister-in-law, Joyce Rosser and her husband, James; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jane and John Wesley Smart; his parents-in-law, Ralph and Doris Lowery; and his brother-in-law, C.J. Creel.
Noland’s family will receive friends and guests from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Zavalla Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Smart, Jeffrey Smart, Terry Smart, James Rosser, Robert Dhone, and Wesley Smart.
