Nova lived a full and vibrant life, always bringing warmth and light to those around her. She worked for Galby Vacuum Service and later retired from Lowe’s. A longtime member of Highland Baptist Church in La Marque, she enjoyed serving others and living her faith. Nova was also proud to serve as a Pink Lady, giving her time and care to help those in need.
She had many passions—cross-stitching, working puzzles, tending flowers, and collecting porcelain dolls and pieces of petrified wood. She adored fried chicken, loved being the “family boss,” and was affectionately known as the “#1 Grandma.” Her greatest joy came from her family, and she never missed an opportunity to teach life lessons, offer a helping hand, or simply be there when she was needed.
Nova is survived by her daughter, Barbara Cagle of Shelbyville, TX; sons Ronnie J. Walker and wife Valerie of Texas City, TX, and James Michael Walker of Santa Fe, TX; brother OD Hand of Lakewood, CO; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ed Walker; mother, Johnnie Rea Foster; stepfather, James Edward Foster; son-in-law, Marquette Cagle; and brother-in-law, Jim Langheim.
