Ola Harris Ross

Services for Ola Harris Ross, 89, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Thornhill and Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Dunk Havard Cemetery.

Ms. Ross was born October 26, 1927 in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Isabell (Hollingsworth) and Casper Harris. She passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 in a local hospital.

She was a loving sister, aunt and friend. She was a member of Saron Pentecostal Church in Saron, Texas. She loved to travel and fish. She retired from nursing as an LVN. Ms. Ross loved to drink her coffee while sitting on her front porch.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Vernell and Charles Havard of Lufkin; sister, Opal Day of Saron; nieces, Lois Windham, Sherlyn Powell and Melissa Harris; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, C. B. Harris; and sisters, Julia Fridell and Zula Smith.

Pallbearers will be Troy Day, Darryl Day, Cody Day, Tyler Windham, Stacey Boikin, Jack Weeks and Wayne Weeks.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Gipson Funeral Home.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
