It is with great sadness that the family of Opal Brown Allee announce her passing on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the age of 91.

Mrs. Allee was born September 17, 1926 in Wells, Texas to Elmer and Edna Brown. She leaves behind children, Linda Holt of Seattle, Wa, Diane Gibson of Bullard, TX, Debbie Attaway of Kingwood, TX, David Goff and wife Verda of Wimberley, TX, and brother and best friend, Alfred Brown of Allentown, TX. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, a large extended family and a host of loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Allee; brother, Bill Brown; sister, LaVerne Brown; and grandson, Andrew Holt.

Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 17 at Gipson Funeral Home, Lufkin followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Private burial will be on Saturday, August 18 in Wells, TX.

Memorial donations may be made to The Joseph House, 5783 FM 841, Lufkin, TX 75901; Affinity Hospice of Lufkin, 2708 S. Medford Drive, Lufkin, TX 75901; or Rube Sessions Memorial Library, 298 Rusk Avenue, Wells, TX 75976.

Mom has left us with years of colorful memories, a skill level at canasta that we’d put up against anyone and a love for music and dancing. Thank you, Mom!
