Orene Waller

Edith Orene Waller, 87, of Lufkin, was born August 22, 1924 in Nacogdoches, Texas, the daughter of the late Edith Orene (Rushing) and John Wilson Rector. She passed away March 10, 2012 at her residence.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Orene was a homemaker and fantastic seamstress who enjoyed quilting. She also found joy in the Home Shopping Network. Orene will be remembered for always being there for her family and for taking care of her husband until his passing. She was a great listener. Orene raised her children with good Christian values. She was strong in character and was in sound mind taking care of her own business affairs until her passing. Orene enjoyed fishing with her husband.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bill Puckett of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Mary Jane and James Bostick of Houston, and Regina Aikey of Baytown; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Marla Waller of Anahuac; grandchildren, Ralph Puckett, Kenneth Puckett, Roland Bostick, Wendy Honda, Abigail Duclos, Amanda Culver, Jason Williams, Justin Waller and Rachel Garner; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys Dubose, Wilma Rector and Jeanette Rector; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Therman Waller; brothers, John Rector, Ezra Rector, Charles Rector, Travis Rector, and James Benjamin Rector; granddaughter, Lynette Puckett; Aunt Glennie Rector; and Uncle Nealie Rector.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Puckett, Bill Puckett, Robert Waller, Chris Strickland, Roland Bostick, and Frank Garner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rex Parkman and James Bostick.

Services for Mrs. Waller will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday ,March 13, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jeff Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
