

Orpha Norton McCall "MaCall", 88, of Lufkin, was born February 21, 1923 in Alazan, Texas, the daughter of the late Beulah (Miller) and Earnest Norton. She passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in a local hospital.
Mrs. McCall was a beloved wife, mother , grandmother, and great-grandmother and was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. She volunteered at Woodland Heights Medical Center for many years. She was retired from Lufkin Industries and was the last of the "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II at Lufkin Industries. She lived and guided by example. Mrs. McCall was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jeanelle McCall of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Jeff Kyle of Victoria; sister, Dorothy Freeman Patterson of Lufkin; granddaughter, Jennifer McCall of Lufkin; grandsons, Jake Kyle and Thomas Kyle, both of Victoria; great-granddaughter, Matteson Wesoloski of Lufkin; great-grandson, Whit Wesoloski of Lufkin; and a number of other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCall was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Webster McCall; infant son, Lonnie McCall; and brother, Orbia Norton.
Services for Mrs. McCall were held on Friday, January 13, 2012 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Bro. Dan Norman officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
