Ms Patsy Hooker

A celebration of life for Patsy JoAnn Hooker, 78, of Pollok, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Bickley officiating. Interment will follow in Pollok Cemetery.

Mrs. Hooker was born August 3, 1938 in Pollok, Texas, the daughter of the late Murville L. (Creel) and Claude E. Robertson. She passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 in a local hospital.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a faithful Christian woman who was dedicated to her church, her family and her work. She worked as the office manager for Dr. James Saxton for 47 years, where she was affectionately referred to as “Ms. Patsy”. She enjoyed cooking and was fond of hosting guests. She loved the Astros, especially Jose Altuve. She enjoyed shopping and working with flowers. She adored spending time with her grandchildren. Patsy was a life-time member of Pollok Baptist Church, where she was baptized, and was a Sunday School teacher for 22 years.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Charles Hooker of Pollok; daughter, Debbie Young of Nacogdoches; son, David Hooker of Pollok; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Jo Ray and Chris of Pollok; step-daughters, Brenda Mackey and husband Charles and Pam Hooker, all of Timpson; grandchildren, Brady Hooker, Sydney Hooker, Heidi Irvin, Jordan Hooker, Joshua Hooker, Samantha Jo Hooker; step-grandchildren, Amber Renick, Matt Harbison, Derek Hendricks, Haylee Hendricks, Joseph Hendricks, Brittany Kimbro, Charlsey Kirk, Chaylon Mackey, Jennifer Hooker; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepson, Charles W. Hooker, Jr.; two brothers, Doyle Robertson and Kenneth Robertson; and granddaughter, Shannon Craft.

Pallbearers will be Dr. James Saxton, Buford Abeldt, Clint Saxton, Brady Hooker, Jordan Hooker, Joshua Hooker, Paul Rich and Chris Ray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Robertson, Andy Robertson, Cory Robertson, Bob Irvin, Danny Rich, Ken Smith and Mark Yoder.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
