

Services for Reba Burns King, 79, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. G. Davis, Jr. and Rev. Karl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Berry Cemetery at Moffett.
Mrs. King was born on April 27, 1932 in the Rocky Hill Community of Angelina County to the late Oma Grant Burns and E. L. Burns. Reba passed away on March 15, 2012.
She was joined in matrimony with her love, Eugene King, on October 3, 1952. They lived their lives together and reared four children. She loved her family and friends. One special life long friend, Julia Stevenson Foreman of Channelview, Texas, was spoken of quite often by Reba with fond remembrance of details from their childhood.
Reba was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed writing poems and short stories, drawing pictures, and visiting with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene King of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd and Pat King of Lufkin and Tracy and Gloria King of Navasota; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Neal Stephens of Lufkin, Diane and Randal Luce of Lufkin; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, LV Cook, Gertrude Breazeal, Elsie Pelton and Mary Ann Temple; brother, Bobby Burns; brothers-in-law and wives, Harvey and Charlotte King and Robert and Diane King; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maerene Graham; brother, Roy Burns; granddaughter, Lisa Marie Luce; and great-grandsons, Caleb and Peyton King.
Pallbearers will be Scott Luce, Floyd King, Jr., Stephen King, Terry Colbert, Ben Castilaw and Daniel Nabors.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Gipson Funeral Home.
