

Ed was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed his motorcycles and fixing things in the shop, he could fix anything. Ed loved spending time with his family. He retired from work as a machinist with Jewell Hudgens Machine Shop. He attended the Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Emerson; sons, Richard E. Emerson Jr., Stephen Ray Emerson and Michael Keith Emerson; grandchildren, Stephen Emerson, Dakota Emerson, Kristin Emerson and Kimberly Emerson; great-grandchildren, Alana Selene Emerson and Garrett Sides; brother, Dan Emerson; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie Grubbs; and brother, Rayford Emerson.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Hutto, Glyn Hutto, Wayne Brooks, Jimmy Brooks, Stephen Emerson and Dakota Emerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Emerson and James Hutto.
Services for Mr. Emerson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Horace Fletcher and Bro. Jim Maddox officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
