

Mr. Oglesby was retired from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, following more than 35 years of service as a wildlife biologist. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family very much. He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, cooking and baking bread for his family and friends. Mr. Oglesby was a very dedicated member of Herty Church of Christ. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1957, who also served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his son, Roy D. Oglesby Jr. of Tyler; daughters and sons-in-law, Karla and Jimmy Torres of Lufkin and Kerri and Tinker Dees of Show Low, Arizona; son and daughter-in-law, Rony and Linda Oglesby of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren, Kristopher Oglesby, Melesha LaRoche, Megann Smith, Ashton Oglesby, Walker Oglesby, Cory Torres, Shannon Torres, Erik Torres, Jason Lilley, Justin Lilley, Ami Lilley, Jonathon Oglesby, Erin Joy, James Oglesby, Morgan Oglesby and Pristeena Oglesby; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Beth Glenn; stepchildren, Gary Teer, Marsha Rader and Andy Teer; and a number of step-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Oglesby was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Oglesby; sisters, Evelyn Jobe and his twin Norma Lutz; and first wife and friend, Gail Oglesby.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kris, Cory, Erik, Jason, Justin and Jonathon.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Walker, James, Morgan, Tieler, Blake, and Jarrett.
Services for Mr. Oglesby will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dean Bullock and Luther Bolenbarker officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
