Ruby Jean Beard, 59, of Nacogdoches, was born June 2, 1951 in Doucette, Texas, the daughter of the late Sally O. V. (Chappell) and Eli Freeman. She passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Beard was a homemaker and a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was very educated on flowers. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, David Beard; son, John N. Beard, Sr.; son, Michael A. Beard; daughter, Gaylon Freeman; son, Ricky D. Smith; 13 grandchildren; brother, Jesse Freeman; and sisters, Mary Sapp, Martha Freeman and Barbara Corn.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her brother, Frankie Eli Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Beard, Adrian Beard, Nate Beard, Jesse Freeman, Jr., William Eli Freeman and Kyle S. Miles.
Graveside services for Mrs. Beard will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 in the Concord Cemetery in Zavalla.
