

Services for Ruth Dennie Horton, 81, of Lufkin, will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Denman Avenue Baptist Church, with Reverend Jeff Moats officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mrs. Dennie Horton was born August 16, 1932 in Greenville, Michigan, the daughter of the late Blanche (DeWeese) and Henry Bauman. She passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Dennie Horton was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She invested in the lives of many people in her community through a day care that she operated from her home. She was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Horton of Lufkin; children, Nancy (Scott) Staskus of Lowell, Michigan, Carolyn Jansen of Lufkin, Lori (Mark) Watson of Georgetown, Lisa (Joel) Hill of Houston and Linda (Jerry) Stout of Lufkin; grandchildren, Chris (Melissa) Dennie, Miranda (Joey) Harris, Katrina (Jonathan)Davis, Shane Jansen, Morgan, Luke, and Gabriel Olivarez, Brandon and Logan Watson, Kaitlin, Trey, and Alexia Butler, Mary Grace and Callahan Hill, Stacie (Dale) Robertson, and Rodney (Pam) Stout; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Olivia and Caden Dennie, Reagan and Taylor Davis, Matthew Jansen, Connor and Kristen Robertson, and Taylor and Erin Stout; sister, Marie Blumentritt (Will) and their family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dennie Horton was preceded in death by her first husband of 59 years, Richard Dennie; son-in-law, Mark Jansen; her adoptive dad, Charles Hegner; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Mark Watson, Joel Hill, Joey Harris, Jonathan Davis, Gerry Butler II, and James Olivarez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Seelbach, Tom Johnson, David Pedrotti and Adam Pedrotti.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
