Left Behind to Cry
When a loved one's time to be with us is over and their soul is released from their body so they can fly, we are left behind to cry.
They leave behind love in our hearts, thoughts of how they enriched our lives and the memories of their smile, but we are left behind to cry.
Left behind to cry, still time to share our love with the people in our lives who someday we will leave behind to cry.
We try to comfort one another, hold each other, and tell each other our loved one is safe and far from the pain of this life, but we are left behind to cry.
God now holds our loved one close and has given them the joy of everlasting life, but we are left behind to cry.
Our lives go on, our tears a part of our lives, our loved one is within us, they left their love behind.
