Shirley Gene Graham

Shirley Gene (Oliver) Graham 52, of Lufkin, was born April 24, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Vernice (Redd) and D. W. Oliver. She passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in a local hospice facility.

Shirley was a sweet and sensitive soul who loved her daughter, granddaughter, and her family and friends with all her heart. She loved animals, especially her dog Dottie. Shirley was proud to be the baby of her large family of 11 children.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Halee and Cpl. Blake Oliver (serving in Afghanistan) of Huntington; granddaughter, Jade Emma Oliver of Huntington; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellie Marie and James Merrill of Corrigan, Geneva Redd of Redtown, Vernell Winthrop of Hudson, Necy and Danny Anders of Redtown, and Barbara and John White of Hudson; brothers and sisters-in-law, J. D. and Dorothy Oliver of Lufkin, James Woody and Gayle Oliver of Redtown, and Jerry and Betty Oliver of Lufkin; close friends, P. J. Burden, Velt Brown and Michael Chubecabra; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Sue Russell; and brother, Zibbie Wesley Oliver.

Pallbearers will be Justin White, Greg Oliver, Barry McKenna, Chris Oliver, Zibbie Wesley Anders, Wade Anders, B. J. Anderson and Patrick Arrington.

Shirley's family wishes to extend special thanks to the 5th Floor Nursing Staff at Memorial Health Systems of East Texas, especially Kyrita "Milo" and Margie, for the care shown to her during her illness.

Also, to the staff of Hospice in the Pines...You are angels and God will bless you for the work you do. We feel this is not only a job to you, but a talent given to you by God.

Services for Shirley were held on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Redtown Baptist Church with Bro. Ross Black officiating. Interment followedin the Sand Flat Cemetery.
