Shirley McMillon

Shirley "Sherry" McMillon, 74, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, was born June 12, 1937 in Palestine, Texas, the daughter of the last Naomi (Jones) and Marvin Ellis Russell. She passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

Mrs. McMillon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was employed with AT&T, retiring in 1989. She volunteered with the AT&T Pioneers, was active in her church, and enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. Mrs. McMillon was a member of Falvey Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Lori McMillon of Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Leeana and Jody Pittman of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dara Thompson of Mustang, Oklahoma, Justin Pittman and wife Brittany of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Jessica Vowell and husband Benjamin of Martin, Tennessee and Rachel McMillon of Mason, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Reese and Evan Thompson, and Donovan, Annika and Jameson Pittman; sister and brother-in-law, Ramona and Sid McAdams; and niece, Jodi Kay.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McMillon was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. McMillon.

Pallbearers will be Carl Brewer, C W Williams, Slade Johnson, Charles Ray Flowers, Travis Glover, and Justin Pittman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Pittman and Sid McAdams.

Services for Mrs. McMillon will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011 in the Falvey Memorial United Methodist Church in Wells, with Pastor Joe Beran officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
