

Thelma Mae King, 76, of Lufkin, was born November 25, 1934 in Trinity County, Texas, the daughter of the late Edna (West) and Calvin Norsworthy. She passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in a local hospice facility, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. King was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Bradley King; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Larry Davis; son and daughter-in-law, David and Liz King; grandchildren, Jana Brazil and Travis, Laurie Hancock and Keith, Karyn King, an Nickolas King; great-grandchildren, Haley and Taylor Brazil and Ian and Anna Hancock; sister, Zelma Smith; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lynn King in 1986; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. King's memory to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Doyle Haynes and his staff, and the staff of Gipson Funeral Home for the loving care and compassion shown to them during this difficult time.
Services for Mrs. King will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Pat Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
