Services for Theresa Ann Alexander, 75, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin, with Pastor Mardy Guidry officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00-10:30am, Wednesday morning. The family invites everyone to a reception following the service from 12-2pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 595 Mt. Carmel Rd, Lufkin, TX 75904.
Theresa Ann Alexander went home to see her Heavenly Father Sunday, March 17, 2019 while surrounded by family. She was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. Theresa was born July 1, 1943 in Worland, Wyoming to the late Roy and Velma Cain. She was one of six siblings and spent most of her life in Lufkin, TX.
Theresa proudly served in the WACS from August 14, 1961 until she was honorably discharged on August 16, 1963. She worked in the medical field and retired as a PBX Operator from Memorial Medical Center. She was a devoted member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
Theresa was a God-fearing lady that enjoyed being around her family. Nothing brought her more joy in her life than her Grandkids; who affectionately called her “gamma.” She enjoyed spending time reading her bible, loving on her fur babies Benny, Big and Snug, taking trips to the casinos, “scritchy scratching” lottery tickets, and occasionally drawing and painting.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher Alexander and wife Kirsten of Lufkin, Drew Alexander of Lufkin and Victor Alexander of Houston; daughter, Stacy Richardson of Lufkin; grandchildren, Gilbert Richardson, Violet Pixley, Spencer Alexander, Makena Alexander all of Lufkin, and Heather Shove of Houston; close friends, Denise Hayes of Lufkin and Pam Alexander of Houston; along with many beloved nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Otis Alexander in 2002; her parents; and her siblings.
