Troy Fay Oates Bailey

Ms. Bailey was born June 10, 1934 in Houston County, Texas, the daughter of the late Willie Irene (Miles) and William David Oates. She passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 in a local hospital.

Ms. Bailey was a loving mother and grandmother. She was retired from Lufkin State School.

Survivors include her son, Johnny Stanford of Lufkin; daughters, Sylvia Acosta and husband Kenneth of Nacogdoches, Judy Bailey Wagnon and husband Jackson of Lufkin, and Carylon Benge and husband Thomas of Lufkin; sons, Billy Bailey and wife Linda of Lufkin and Elton Bailey of Lufkin; sister, Pauline Kroeker; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Bailey was preceded in death by her brothers, J. D. Oates and Mearl Oates.

Pallbearers will be Roy Richarson, Jason Acosta, Brad Acosta, Ronnie Howell, Carson Frankens, Dave Stanford and Cody Bailey.

Memorial contributions in Ms. Bailey’s memory may be made to O’Quinn Baptist Church, 7433 US Hwy 69N, Pollok, TX 75969.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
