Veronica Gibson, 59, passed away on March 3, 2026. Born on March 14, 1966 in Pueblo, Colorado, Veronica lived life with a big personality, an unmistakable sense of humor, and a heart that was deeply devoted to the people she loved. Her family was always at the center of her world.
Veronica proudly served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. Her service was something she carried with pride throughout her life. She loved supporting the next generation of service members, often sponsoring and adopting midshipmen, and was known as the “tailgate queen” at every Army–Navy game. Go Navy, Beat Army! #87
Veronica was the loving wife of 16 years to Mark Gibson, who precedes her in death. She loved her children deeply and was endlessly proud of them: Victoria Penenburgh, Jessica Stuart, Elizabeth Medford, Ari Penenburgh, and Nathaniel Gibson. Being a grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life. She was a devoted and doting grandmother to Rylan, Alaina, Elijah, Jude, Rayna, Rowan, Gloria, Esme, and Calliope, who all brought her immense pride and happiness.
She was the beloved daughter of Josephine Perkins and Neal Perkins and a loving sister to Patrick, Timothy, Brian, Rebecca, and Claudia. Veronica also shared her life with many extended family members, friends, and chosen family who meant the world to her.
Veronica will be remembered for the laughter she brought into a room, the loyalty she showed to those she cared about, and the countless ways she made people feel like family. The space she leaves behind is immeasurable, but so is the love she gave to those around her.
