Virginia Baker Thorne

Services for Virginia (Baker)Thorne, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in the Swift Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Mrs. Thorne, the daughter of the late Effie and Alvin Baker, was born December 17, 1930 in Nacogdoches, TX and passed away October 19, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Thorne was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and and sister. She was a life-long beautician. Mrs. Thorne loved her family, especially the grandchilren. She enjoyed fishing, canning, gardening, cooking and family gatherings. She loved the Lord.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dalton and Linda Henley of Lufkin; daughter, Beverly Brister of Apple Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Robbie Beason of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Deborah Jerrett of Channelview and Kenneth and Angie Jerrett of Apple Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Alissa and David Burke of Hudson; grandchildren, Bradley Henley, Glenn Brister, Billy Mac Brister, Noah Beason, Dustin Jerrett, Heath Jerrett, Robin Richnow, Sarah Hensarling and Wesley Burke; great-grandchilren, Cody Brister, Jaci Brister, Matthew Brister and Emily Brister; sisters, Delia Pearl Wright and Faye Kelly; brother, Charles Baker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leggett "Red" Thorne; brothers, Wiley Wade Baker and Robert George Baker; sisters, Fannie Marie Runnels and Carrie Wheeler.
