Walt M. Bardwell

Mr. Bardwell was retired as a pilot at Lufkin Industries. He served his country with the United States Air Force. He was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, William Bardwell and Mary Blanchard of Lufkin; daughter, Judy Valentine and Richard Corbitt of Dallas; grandsons, Colt and Stephanie Valentine and Chad and Crystal Valentine; and a number of other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bardwell was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Brooks Bardwell; brother, Bob Bardwell; and sister, Mary Dykes.

Pallbearers will be Chad Valentine, Colt Valentine, Rip Valentine, Craig Simmons, Chase Simmons, and Christopher Simmons.

Services for Mr. Bardwell will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Gary Forrest and Bro. Blake Powers officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 Thursday in the Walnut Springs Cemetery in Carthage.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
