

Wesley Leon Reeves, Sr. passed away on Saturday the 9th of January 2016. He was born on June 14, 1939 to Dewey and Ada Kee Reeves in Crockett, Texas. He grew up in East Texas, graduating from Diboll High School in 1957. Later that year, he enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 15, 1957 and served until retiring on 1 Aug 1986 as a Senior Master Sargent. As an aircraft mechanic, he worked and flew on many types of aircraft for the first 16 years. His duties took him to many places around the globe such as California, Okinawa, Thailand, Bossier City, Alaska and two tours in Vietnam. In June of 1973, he volunteered for Recruiting duty and was assigned to Nacogdoches, Texas for 7 years. Later, in June of 1980, he was reassigned to Bossier City recruiting office until he retired.
On Feb 14, of 1959, he met the love of his life, Patricia L. Myers and they married in Sacramento California on December 6, 1959. They had 4 children, Wesley “Chip” Jr., Brenda, Michael and John.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Dewey and Ada; brothers, Oren and Billy Ray; sister, Marian; and son John. Left to cherish his life are his wife, children; Wesley Jr, Brenda, and Michael and their spouses and 8 grand and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 with burial in the Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs, Texas, with Full Military and Masonic Honors.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
