William Glynn (Willie) Drysdale, Sr., 68, of Lufkin was born June 15, 1942 in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was the son of Samuel Augustine and Mildred (Harper) Drysdale. Mr. Drysdale passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at his home in Lufkin, Texas.
He graduated from Ft. Worth High School and then lived freely, truly believing in God. He was of the Assembly of God faith. Mr. Drysdale was a truck driver as his occupation, but enjoyed gardening and playing his saxophone for relaxation. In his later years, he came to truly love and appreciate his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include sons, William Glynn Drysdale, Jr. and David Allen Drysdale, both of Lufkin; daughter, Sharon Renee' Whitehead and her husband Richard of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Sam Drysdale, Brody Butler, Sarah and Samantha Johnson, all of Lufkin, Crystal Michelle Thigpen of Kileen, and Richard Glynn Whitehead of Nacogdoches; great-grandson, Steven Zane Salinas, brother, Ed Drysdale of Ft. Worth; several Aunts and Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Jimmy Drysdale and 1 grandson Ben Kody Williams.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home, Lufkin, TX.
