

Memorial services for William S. “Billy” Poole, 58, of Corrigan, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Rusty Waller and Bro. Robert Lankford officiating
Billy was born May 9, 1956 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, the son of the late Naomi (Samuelson) and William Henry Poole. He passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at his residence.
Billy worked in Nuclear Medicine as a Radiology Technician at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. His spiritual gift was music – he played both the guitar and piano. He taught several people to play and also wrote songs. He was a “people person” with a great sense of humor. He made people laugh and never met a stranger. He was “Employee of the Year” his last year at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He enjoyed cooking – the spicier the better. He painted in acrylics and oils. Billy said, “My greatest achievement was having my baby.” Melissa was the apple of his eye and he was a good father. He was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Poole; daughter, Dr. Melissa Poole and husband David Rice of Lufkin; grandchildren, Evelyn and Jackson Rice; granddog, Jacques Poole; sisters, Katherine Hutson of Corrigan, Marlene Wilkinson and husband Roy of Rusk, and Marie Fairfull and husband Timothy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; mother-in-law, Montez McNaughten and husband Joe of Milam; brother-in-law, Dr. Rusty Waller and wife Dr. Sharon Waller of Ras Al Khaimah; sister-in-law, Kim Johnson and husband Mike of Nacogdoches; nieces and nephews, Donna, Cindy and Kelly; Brad, Amanda, Jared, Jon, Zoey, Jayce and Jacob; special friends, George and John Schoenemann and Terry Albrooks; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Poole.
