Alden “Al” Matthew Kelley, 79, of Marblehead, known by many of his close friends as “AK-47”, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 2:22 A.M. Alden is survived by his 3 daughters Susan Kelley, Sheila Kelley, and Sharon Narotsky, and predeceased by his daughter Kathie Kelley. Grandchildren include Victoria Hoerauf, Jordan Narotsky, Jared Narotsky, and Katelyn Kelley, as well as Sally A. Kelley, the mother of his 4 daughters. His many friends include the Hill-Michaud family; Jennifer, Mike, Tim, Ruby, Jade, Max and Robert. He was predeceased by his parents, Alden M. Kelley, Sr., and Josephine L. Kelley, born in Lynn, MA. Following his service in the U. S. Navy during The Vietnam War, Alden returned to Lynn in 1962 with an Honorable Discharge. He then spent over 30 years working in the Lynn public schools. Alden spent much of his time going back and forth to New Hampshire, where he trained dogs with his best friend, Mike P. There is some speculation that he may have enjoyed the company of his German shepherds over people. Alden, a friend of Bill W. for more than 42 years, dedicated his time to helping others. In his final days, he was surrounded by people who loved him and who he had helped. Alden Kelley passed away peacefully in the knowledge that he was loved.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 9AM from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 10AM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 4-8PM.
