Alfred Joseph Francullo, Sr. a life-long resident of Lynn, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the age of 90. Born in Lynn on February 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Ralph and Antoinette (Marturano) Francullo. Al was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School with the Class of 1946. After his graduation, Al enlisted into the US Navy at the end of World War II. He served bravely aboard the USS Fargo until his honorable discharge in 1948. He married his sweetheart, Lorraine (Long) in Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield on April 14, 1956 and the couple settled in Lynn to begin their family. He and “his bride” spent almost 60 years in marriage and love together until her passing in 2015.

He was a dedicated employee to the City of Lynn as a Supervisor within the Building Maintenance Department in City Hall. He devoted 32 years of service to the city until his retirement. Al was quite the handyman and could fix just about anything. He loved “puttering” in his workshop and tending to his lawn and garden.

Al and Lorraine loved to spend time at their summer home special place in Moody, Maine. After Lorraine’s passing, Al moved to Brightview Senior Living Community. While at Brightview, Al made new friends and enjoyed a competitive card game. Al’s children are grateful to the staff for the care and compassion they provided during his final years.

Al leaves his children: Ann Mansfield and her husband, Richard of Lynn, Laurie Campanile and her husband Robert of Saugus, Alfred Francullo, Jr. of Lynn and Linda Francullo of Middleton. He also leaves his grandchildren: Alfred Francullo III (AJ), Gregory Campanile and Jeffrey Campanile as well as his great-grandson, Joseph Francullo.

He also leaves behind two sisters, Carmella (Millie) Costantini and Gloria Gambale, and several nieces and nephews.
