Mrs. Andrea Jean (Cassano) Florentino, 72, of Lynn passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She is the cherished mother of Erik Florentino and James Hubert.

Born in Boston on May 29, 1947, Andrea was the daughter of the late Harold “Jimmy” and Anna (Jurigian) Cassano. She grew up in the Greater Boston area and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. Andrea had a calling for serving others in anyway way she could.

She was kind and generous to others, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She worked at the Ocean Delight in Peabody for 20 years, however, her real passion was in her volunteer work with the American Red Cross and Shoe City Lions. Barbara Stasi (Kanjian)

January 18, 2020

I’m Andrea’s cousin Barbara from New York. My mom Mary Kanjian (Jurigian) was her mom’s oldest sister. It’s been sometime since we saw each other when I visited Massachusetts but we have been connected on Facebook. I always enjoyed her posts and she always loved to see mine. I knew she was not well and always prayed for her to get better. She really fought this disease bravely. I will never forget all the good times we had when we were all young and got together that I never wanted to leave. We were nine girl cousins now we are seven. My sister Lorraine lives in Florida. My oldest sister Carolyn who was close to Andrea when they were young girls had passed away at the age of 52 in 1998. If anything I hope they are hugging each other in heaven. God bless!

Andrea and I met while Erik and James
were in my class at Sisson School. I remember her as a loving and caring mother who always put her children’s needs first and foremost. I admire her greatly for her devotion to her sons. I will truly miss her generous ways and kind and loving spirit.

Andrea was the light and joy of my time at Ocean Delight. We worked Friday nights together and we laughed all of the time. She always bragging about Erik and James and just lit up with pride when she spoke of them. We always laughed and she made you feel like family. Andrea had a way to make everyone feel welcome and she knew everyone by name. It was so fun with her and I thought of her often after I moved way. She was an awesome woman.

We shared so many good times together at Ocean Delight, we were the mother daughter team on Sat nights and had more laughs... You loved to socialize and catered to all the elderly customers who were more like family. We had a blast at the Michael Bolten concert, you were so excited to go....
and when I got mad, you always said "the red hair will be flying", you may be gone but not forgotten... love to you always Mama... xoxo
