

Mrs. Anita E. (Gendron) Jackson, age 97, of Lynn, died Thursday at the Abbott House Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph H. Jackson, Jr., with whom she shared 54 years.
Born and raised in Lynn, Anita was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Ducharme) Gendron. She attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School Class of 1935. She was a resident of both Lynn and Swampscott.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a shoe sprayer for O’Donnell Shoe and Cashwell Shoe. She was also a member of the United Shoe Workers Union. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a former volunteer at the Swampscott Senior Center. Anita enjoyed bingo, knitting and crocheting and watching golf and the Red Sox.

Anita leaves her children: Ralph H. Jackson and his wife Judy of Lynn, Ruth A. Jackson of Lynn, Kenneth M. Jackson and his wife Eleanor of Salisbury, Robert C. Jackson and his wife Patricia of Saugus, and Anita L. Lake and her husband Charles of Laconia, NH. She was the sister of Donald Gendron of Bunnell, FL. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John E. Jackson and sister of the late Henry Gendron, Edward Gendron and Joseph Gendron.
Anita’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Wednesday at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-8PM.
