

Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Elisa (Palermo) Tammaro. Argena made her home with her “darling husband” Alfred in the DiCesare family homestead in Readville.
In WWII when Alfred was stationed in Florida, Argena was by his side. The couple relocated to California for several years finally making their home in Readville.
Argena was a constant student, attending Harvard University part-time, receiving her bachelor’s degree in the Humanities in 1975.
She worked for the Welfare Department for several years. She was a part-time bookkeeper and tutor, but was first and foremost a devoted wife to her beloved husband who passed away in 1993.
She leaves behind her devoted sister Dora LeBlanc and her niece Elisa Hockenhull both of Lynn, a sister-in-law Velia DiCesare of Readville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Anthony Tammaro and Avre Tammaro.
Dora and Elisa would personally like to thank her caregivers at the Essex Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Beverly for their kind and compassionate treatment of Argena through her final years.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church Lynn at Noon. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation Friday morning at 11:00 AM.
