

Arthur William “Bill” Fogarty, Jr., 64, of Salem, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 at Salem Hospital following a brief battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Lozinski) Fogarty.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Arthur William Fogarty, Sr. and Mary (McCarthy) Fogarty. Bill grew up in Lynn and graduated from Lyn English High School. He honorably served in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Fogarty was employed with the Charlestown Naval and Portsmouth Naval Shipyards as a Rigger. He retired in 2003.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Jeanette C. Ellis and her husband, Patrick, of West Roxbury; son, Sean Bishop of California; brother, Dennis Fogarty and his wife, Liz of Salem; nephews, Matthew and Ryan Fogarty of Salem. He is also survived by grandchildren, Daniel, Erin and Sean Ellis of West Roxbury. Bill was the brother of the late Meg Fogarty.
Mr. Fogarty’s memorial service will be held at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Wednesday, November 30 at 7PM followed by military honors. Relatives and friends invited.
