B. Dorothea Pechilis

Dorothea (Demakis) Pechilis, age 96, was born to eternal life on Tuesday March 31, 2026. Dottie was the beloved daughter of the late Spiros and Pota Demakis and devoted sister, mother, aunt and grandmother.

Born on January 17, 1930, Dottie was a proud, life-long resident of Lynn Massachusetts, spending the last 5 years of her life in New Hampshire. Dottie was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and went on to attend Boston Secretarial School. This led to a 10 year career as an executive secretary for General Electric (GE). Following her time at GE, Dottie went on to become a devoted mother and homemaker to her two children, Ernest and Pamela.

Dottie found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family. She loved cooking and took great pride in preparing meals for those she loved, her home was the heart of countless cherished holiday gatherings.

After sharing 15 beautiful years together, Dottie married the love of her life, Constantine “Custy” Pechilis on June 15, 1986. They enjoyed dancing, boating and spending time in Florida. Later in life she spent her winters in Clearwater Florida with her longtime friend Michael.

She had a deep love of gardening and found great joy watching her crocuses and tulips pop their heads up through the ground to greet the spring. Fiercely independent, she maintained her own home until the age of 91, a testament to her strength and determination.

Dottie is survived by her loving son, Ernest Demos and his wife Lisa, grandchildren, Andrea Waggoner and her husband Zachary, Andrew Demos and Sophia Demos, Joshua, Elena and Charles, great-grandchildren, her brother William Demakis and many loving nieces and nephews.

Dottie was predeceased by her loving husband Custy, daughter Pamela Demos, brothers, Louis Demakis, James Demakis and Timothy Demakis and sister, Elaine Grevelis.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday April 3, 2026 at 9:30 am - 11:00 am at Saint George’s Greek Orthodox Church, 54 S. Common St, Lynn, MA. Funeral service to follow at 11 am. She will be interred at Cowles Memorial Cemetery in Ipswich, MA.
