

Bernadette Germain, aka “Bingo” was born to the late Pressoir and Lea Germain, In Saint-Marc, Haiti, on January 14, 1946, and passed away on Sunday August 9, 2026. She grew up in Haiti, and emigrated to the U. S. in the late 1970’s. She graduated from nursing school and took a position as a nurse at Benjamin Health. Bernadette was a devoted Christian. She was immersed in the Catholic community that would be her lifelong support from an early age.
Bernadette was an educator at heart. She broke the glass ceiling by becoming the first female teacher at an all-male catholic school, Frere Herve of Saint-Marc. She was soft-spoken and always put others’ needs before hers. She was well liked by her peers and well loved by her students. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Bernadette is survived by her sisters, Marie Ange Belot, Jeannine Chery, Marie Michelle Micourt, Marie L Boniface, and her brothers, Billy Max Charles, Evens Charles, and by a multitude of nephews and nieces.
Her visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
