Brenda Joyce Burns Blanchard

Born in Waltham, Brenda was a daughter of the late Paul and Jeannette Burns. Brenda was a U.S. Post Office mail carrier for 25 years, she loved antiques and collectables.

She had a true love of the ocean and was an avid sport fisherman. Brenda had a heart of gold who befriended everyone she met. She fought a courageous battle with bladder cancer for 8 years.

She is survived by her husband Jim Blanchard of Surfside Beach, S.C., and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Burns.

Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 178 Humphrey St., Swampscott on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 10AM. Family & friends respectfully invited. Burial in Central Cemetery, Beverly. Arrangements by Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn MA 01904. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
