Carla was actively involved in various organizations that held significant meaning to her, including The Edmund Lodge, Gripsholm Lodge, Billerica Emblem Club #410. She served with pride as a State President of the Massachusetts State Association, a role that exemplified her commitment to leadership and service. With a heart dedicated to care, Carla spent many years as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Her skill and compassion provided comfort to countless infants and their families, leaving a lasting impact on those she cared for. After a long and fulfilling career, she retired, having built a legacy of kindness and service.
Carla had a passion for travel. She loved exploring the world with friends and family, creating cherished memories and fostering lasting friendships. An avid animal lover, she found joy in the companionship of animals, reflecting her caring nature.
Carla was the beloved daughter of Edward and Laila Horton. She was predeceased by her parents and her three brothers: Duane, Erik, and Barry Horton.
She is survived by her loving nephews and their families; Edward and Jeannette Horton, Kris and Stacey Horton, Scott and Stephanie Horton, Mark and Jenny Horton, and Kurt Horton. She also leaves behind many cherished great-nephews and great-nieces, along with numerous friends and extended family members who will deeply miss her.
Carla’s legacy of kindness, service, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, dedication to helping others, and her profound love for family and friends. Her adventurous spirit and caring nature inspired everyone around her, ensuring that her memory will forever shine bright.
