Carol A. Karuzis

LYNN – Carol Ann (Nichols) Karuzis, 76, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away on Thursday, March 28th, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carol was the beloved wife of the late John Karuzis with whom she shared 41 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Laure Karuzis and Joseph Karuzis and his wife, Mika; the cherished sister of George Nichols and Lydia Nichols, both of Lynn; the dear cousin of Norman Cote and Catherine Tilley, both of Florida; the lifelong friend of Barbara and Bob Ushkevich; the sister-in-law of Martin and Diane Hines of Lynn; and the aunt of several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Born in Lynn, Carol was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Elliot) Nichols and the step daughter of Lucy Nichols. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School with the Class of 1960. Carol worked at Traveler’s Insurance in Lynn for 10 years and then One Beacon Insurance in Peabody for over 14 years until her retirement in 2003. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Peabody Garden Club for several years. She was also a communicant of St. Pius V Church. Most of all, Carol loved spending as much time as she could with her friends and family. Visiting hours will be held at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday, April 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, April 5th at 10:00 a.m. followed at 11:00 a.m. by a Funeral Mass at St. Pius V Church, Lynn.
