Mrs. Carol A. (Stapleton) Bansfield, age 82, of Middleton and formerly of Lynn, died on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of James Bansfied, with whom she shared almost 61 years of marriage.
Born in Medford on Dec. 20, 1939, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie (Kirwan) Stapleton. She lived in Lynn for most of her life and in Middleton since 2005.
Carol worked for the Mass. Department of Motor Vehicles.
Carol loved the Lord. She was an active communicant of St. Pius V Church. She served as a lector and also as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing Communion to the sick in local hospitals. She was active in Charismatic Renewal and for 20 years was a leader in the Prayer Group. For the past 10 years, Carol was an active member of the God Has No Limits Church in Lynn.
She leaves her husband James, and was the mother of James Bansfield and his wife Susan of Plainville, Donna Whalen and her husband Keith of Lynn, and of the late Kathleen M. “Kathy” Bansfield who died November 16, 2021. She was also the sister of the late Richard Stapleton and the late Stephen Stapleton, the grandmother of Patrick, William and Kevin Whalen, and leaves many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 11:30AM, followed by burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Visiting hours will be on Sunday 3-6 PM.
