Carolyn Delano

Carolyn Delano of Chelsea passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the age of 77. Carolyn was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, sister, partner, and friend, who will be deeply missed. She was the devoted partner of Tom Speropolous, of Chelsea, for nearly 40 years. She was the beloved mother of April Delano, of Bedford, who predeceased her in February 2023 and Maston Wagers, of Houston, TX, who predeceased her in December 2009. Her family and friends will miss her big presence in their lives but rejoice knowing she is now at peace and resting with April and Maston.

Born in New Mexico on September 25, 1945, Carolyn grew up in San Antonio and Houston, TX with her family before moving to Lynn in 1978 with her children, April and Maston. She worked for MCR Technologies in Wakefield for many years until retirement in 2013. Carolyn and Tom enjoyed traveling together around the world and spending time at their beautiful home in Tequesta, Florida. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed gardening and watching for the hummingbirds in the springtime with her daughter April.

Carolyn is survived by her loving granddaughter Karen Anne Butler of Bedford; her beloved partner Tom Speropolous; her three sisters, Donna Shepard, of Houston, TX, Peggy Byrd and her husband Rick of Lometa, TX, and Wanda Beans, of Houston, TX. In addition, she will be missed by her family, George and Maureen Speropolous of Ipswich, Christina and Steven Stanko of Peabody, Nina and Wayne Wright of York, ME and along with their children. She is also survived by all of her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Texas.

She was also predeceased by her brother, Doyle McGinnis and her parents, Donald and Velma McGinnis, all of Houston, TX.

Friends and family are invited to attend visitation for Carolyn on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a Prayer Service at 4:00 PM. Burial will be private.
