Christopher J. DeLand

Christopher J. DeLand, of Summerville, SC, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the age of 40. He was the beloved husband of Katrina (Morton) DeLand, with whom he shared almost 15 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of Emily (DeLand) Texeira. Chris was a graduate of Strafford High School in South Carolina and proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Pararescueman. He later raised his family in Danvers and Salem before returning to South Carolina and worked as a heavy equipment operator.

Chris had a passion helping others, skydiving and riding motorcycles. He was known for being very forgiving, having the biggest heart, and doing anything for anyone, friend or stranger.

Chris is survived by his wife Katrina DeLand, his daughter Josie DeLand and step-children Montana Williams and Malia Cole, his mother Emily Texeira, his grandchildren Lila Williams and Tommy Cole, his sister Jeannette Mordaunt, his brother Craig Mordaunt, and his grandmother Leslie DeLand and his loving uncles and aunts. He is predeceased by his grandfather Donald “Duck” DeLand.

Chris’s visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. His funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
