Christopher “Digga” Roach, age 43 of Lynn, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Chris was a lifelong resident of Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, where he was a standout athlete. As the starting soccer goalie for the Varsity team, he made a name for himself with his grit, heart and quick reflexes. Off the field, he was also a talented drummer, with a love for music that matched his energy and spirit.
Chris’s true passion was his business that he started, owned and operated for the last 10 years, Roach Diagnostic and Repair. Chris was a master of his craft – especially gifted in electrical diagnostics, where his talent and dedication made him one of the best auto mechanics around. His work ethic and kindness touched countless lives over the years.
Chris was never one to turn down a friend or animal in need. Whether it was lending a hand after hours, answering a call for help on the side of the road, or just offering his time and his tools to solve someone else's problem, he gave selflessly and without hesitation. He lovingly adopted dogs who were in need of homes over the years including Georgia, Brutus, Zoey and most recently Daisy.
He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, loyalty and hands that helped rebuild not just engines – but lives. His absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends and anyone lucky enough to have known him.
Chris is survived by his loving mother, Linda (Bissett) Roach of Lynn, he was the nephew of Susan and Donn Belair, Pat and Frank Gill, Michael Roach, Robert and Diane Roach; his lifelong friends Jonathan and Stacia Brennan of Lynn; his best friend Alicia Vieira of Salem; his cousins, all of whom shared a special bond with him throughout his life and many neighbors and close friends. Chris was predeceased by his father Kevin W. Roach and his aunt Joanne (Roach) Clarke.
Friends and family are invited to attend Chris’s visitation on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter of Salem or to a charity of your choice.
