

Cindy Ann (Wilkinson) Burns, a long-time resident of Swampscott, passed away very unexpectedly on Monday, November 13, 2017 in The NSMC – Salem Hospital at the age of 48. Born in Lynn on February 21, 1969, she was the daughter of Joan A. (Ellis) Glass of Lynn and the late Stephen A. Wilkinson. Cindy was raised and educated in Lynn. In her early work years, she tended bar for the D.A.V. Chapter 64 that is on Summer St. She then went on to work for over 15 years for the now closed Earl of Sandwich Co. that was located on Western Ave. in Lynn. Her hospitality career ended when she left working from Dunkin’ Donuts that was in Vinnin Square. Cindy enjoyed cooking. She was quick witted and a wonderful storyteller in her own animated way. She was a fun-loving woman with a warm spirit and will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
In addition to her mother, Cindy leaves her husband of 15 years; Howard J. Burns, Sr. of Swampscott, her daughters; Shayna Carpenter and Hannah Burns of Swampscott, her step-son, Howard J. Burns, Jr. of Saugus, her brothers; Stephen E. Wilkinson, Jr. and his wife, Dina of Lynnfield, Scott Wilkinson and his wife, Kiki of MD, and Chris Glass and his wife, Jen of Peabody, her sister; Alicia Wilkinson of Salem, her step-grandchildren; Howard J. Burns, III, Ezra Burns, and Chantelle Burns, her aunts; Mary Laramie of Lynn, Anna Livingston of Lynn, and Rosie Johnson of Saugus, and her uncles; Fred Ellis of AZ and John Ellis of NH. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends also survive her.
A Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 7pm. Visiting Hours will be held in the funeral home prior to the service from 4 to 7pm. Interment services will be held privately at a later date.
