Claire T. Bresnahan Dunleavy

Claire was born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Ellen (Whalen) Bresnahan. Claire was a graduate of St. Mary’s Girls High School Class of 1943. She continued her education at Burdett Business School.

Claire worked at Tutman Thurlow for many years before retiring to raise her family in Swampscott. The family moved to the Cape in 1979. Claire entered the Real Estate field and worked 17 years for McDevitt Associates in Dennis, Massachusetts.

She leaves her 11 children John Dunleavy and his wife Brenda Schertz of Portland, ME, Sarah Dunleavy and her husband James MacLaughlin of Westwood, Susan LeTourneau and her husband Jack of Wenham, James Dunleavy of East Sandwich, Joseph Dunleavy and his wife Diana of Roanoke, VA, Jerome Dunleavy and his wife Diane of Beverly, Justin Dunleavy and his wife Susan of Marblehead, Jeffrey Dunleavy of Gloucester, Claire M. Dunleavy of Brewster, Elizabeth Stergis and her husband Louis of East Sandwich and Emily Massell and her husband Stephen of Middletown, NJ. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her sister in law Anne Bresnahan of Swampscott and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late John, William, Stephen and Alfred Bresnahan and Eleanor O’Connor.

Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn, Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
